An unexpected tumbling off the highway from Kollam to Trivandrum, lands one in a spectacular hideout, quite contrary to the busy road outside. This homestay is a captivating setting on the banks of the placid waters of Karamana River. The tranquil waters of the estuary are often mistaken for the backwaters, as the river meets the Arabian Sea about 2 kilometers from the house.
Steps leading to the water give a clear view of boats, lazily inching towards the coconut plantations on the opposite bank. A newly built cottage stands at a tempting proximity to water, only a few feet away. This includes a kitchenette and a living room to serve as a separate unit by itself. Two bright yellow cottages are entered through a thatched gate and have a green patch and an elevation in front. The structure serves as a stage for many local artistes, who perform on request for a personal show. Longue chairs in the verandah are perfect to sink in, for a marvelous sun-set.
Priya and Johnâs impeccable hospitality is the result of a long drawn experience of the tourism industry. Their charming and calm demeanor compliments the peaceful setting of the house. Pets are welcome by the couple and their five year old son.
