The Achaiahs are a Kodava family who have been running this home stay for the past nine years. The Kodavas are a minority community from Kodagu district; a martial race with a fascinating culture based on ancestor worship.
Lovingly built thirty years ago, has always been a warm, hospitable home for any passing guest.
Our journey would not have been possible without our staff, several of whom have been with us for many years. Ever willing to make your stay comfortable, they along with Princess, our loveable doggy and the two cats, Munchkin and Babykin, are an integral part of the extended family.
We enjoy sharing our home with visitors from across the globe. One-on-one interaction allows guests to take a peek in our lives. Experience the real India, over a cup of hot soup or freshly brewed coffee from our estate.
We ensure that all our guests are pampered with privacy and comfort during their stay. Accommodation comprises of a separate cottage-style unit of four spacious A/C rooms, with attached bathrooms.
The rooms share a large common verandah overlooking a garden, perfect for relaxing over a cup of home brewed coffee. A 24-hour back up generator, WiFi and electric kettles in each room are our concessions to modern living. We believe that a peaceful holiday needs only bird-calls for distraction.
Meals are eaten at Yamuna and Farokhsâ home, with the emphasis being on authentic, freshly prepared food. We use organic ingredients as far as possible. Breakfast is a mixed spread of Indian and Continental dishes, with dinner available on request. Our family has a long-standing tradition of passing down recipes over generations, and we truly enjoy sharing our favourite dishes with guests.
