Eden Garden - Home away from home at Fort Kochi

Tucked away in Fort Cochin is this homestay that lives up to its name in every way. Upon entering this 260-year old home you are welcomed by a large pond which is filled with vibrant fish and bright green foliage. A man-made waterfall cascades in the background as birds chirp along cheerfully.

The home is maintained with a lot of care and love by the Cyprians, who are one of the oldest families in Fort Cochin. The Cyprians history, here, can be traced back to over 400 years. So, who else could be better suited in giving visitors real insight about the place? This homestay has been operating as a successful homestay for the last four years, receiving many repeat clients. This is largely due to the personalised attention given to guests by Mel Cyprian and his wife, Judith. Its easy to see why their guestbook is overflowing with rave reviews in countless languages.

The guests unanimously fall in love with Judith's cooking particularly her famous Appam. Mel's father, Tony is a retired naval officer and he's filled with stories about Fort Cochin's history. He's a great resource for travellers and can help people experience the best of this small sleepy region. The homestay has three spacious guest rooms that are bathed in sunlight and offer calming views of their beautiful fish pond. The home is enveloped by fruit-bearing trees, herbs, spice plants that are a testament to Tony's green thumb. The greenery within the complex keeps it cool, a welcome respite from Kerala's sultry climate. The Cyprians are proud of the towns secular character and point out that churches, mosques, temples are within walking distance of the homestay.

With a home that's simply divine and a history that dates back to over 4 centuries, the Cyprians are more than just your hosts in Fort Cochin. They are true ambassadors of Kerala.
