Trivandrum is the anglicized name of Thiruvananthapuram. It is located on India's west coast near the extreme south of the country. It is the largest and most populous city in Kerala and the state's capital. Important distances are Thekkady - 272 km, Kanniyakumari- 87 km and Quilon -72 km.
Thiruvananthapuram's history can be traced back to 1000 BCE. It is believed that King Solomon's fleet landed here in 1036 BCE.
